Linear axes give homemade designs the chop

SKF Engineering Products Ltd has introduced the PICO series of standardised linear axes for cross table assembly. These linear axes offer a precise, innovative, compact and cost effective alternative to "homemade" designs, providing high-quality solutions for a wide range of applications, including small pick and place and lightweight handling operations.

The PICO linear axes give the benefits of a compact design, with widths ranging from only 60 to 80 mm, together with a high load carrying capacity. A high running accuracy includes lateral and vertical running accuracy at strokes of 50-550mm between 10 and 30 µm

To ensure a long lifespan, the PICO range consist of a corrosion-resistant steel cover, a blue anodised aluminium base, a black anodised aluminium top and a motor flange combined with a locating bearing unit. Limit switches with a plug attachment are supplied as standard.

PICO linear axes are available in two sizes of five standard lengths. They can be supplied with either an AC or DC servomotor with additional attachments of linear measurement systems also available.
