Gas spring technology steels itself for marine applications

The Stabilus Lift-O-Mat INOX-line of stainless steel gas springs is now available to the marine industry from SKF Engineering Products Limited. A compact design, a high level of functional comfort and high operational safety, combined with the robust properties of stainless steel, open up many specialist marine applications.

The special corrosion-resistant characteristics of the stainless steel used in the INOX-line also ensure a high level of protection against acid or lye stress and gives protection in harsh environments, such as those at sea. This same resistance, and the use of biodegradable oils, is also of special importance for water and environmental technology.

The INOX-line meets international quality standards such as DIN EN ISO 9001, as well as the new world standard ISOITS 16949 with the regulatory requirements of QS 9000, VDA 6.1, EAQF, and AVSQ. The INOX-line offers lengths from 205 to 885mm with strokes from 60 to 400mm and forces from 100 to 1,000N.
